Wednesday night, the Pittsburg Unified School District school board voted 5-0 to approve a resolution that calls the WesPac project “unequivocally contrary to public health and safety and beyond mitigation” and furthermore asking that it not be placed anywhere in Contra Costa County.
They based this resolution on the health and safety impacts that the facility would have on the students in the district. As we know, air pollution levels are already quite high at Pittsburg High School (one of the locations where we did air monitoring).
